Orchard meadow

The approximately two hectare orchard meadow, which is preferably home to old cherry trees, was completely renatured in 2016 with the help of EU funds. It was completely overgrown in the last few decades. We have been cultivating the orchard meadow since 2014, which means that our sheep graze on them. Due to their condition, large parts had to be completely cleared by a specialist company. The dead wood remained, as well as the shredded wood as a shelter for beetles & Co on the site. In 2018, a LaNU project planted rare Saxon pear and apple varieties that were worth preserving in the gaps in the trees.
